Madhuri Dixit’s invitation to dance with her

Madhuri Dixit’s dancing skills have not faded a bit with passing years, as is undoubtedly proved by the promos of her forthcoming flick ‘Aaja Nachle’ releasing on 30th November.
Now, Mads will make her fans dance along again with her dance number ‘Dance With Me’. This English track has been written by Asif Ali Beg who in the past has written for films like ‘NEAL N NIKKI’, ‘DHOOM 2’ and ‘VICTORIA NO. 203’, among others. The song crooned by Sonia Saigal will show Madhuri’s grip in western dance too.
Meanwhile, if sources are to be believed this dance diva is unhappy with the way her comeback film is being promoted. Madhuri Dixit feels that the promos and the storyline of the film were leaked too early thus choking the interest and curiosity of the audiences. Anyway, she is keeping her fingers crossed to see the fate of her ambitious project.

Mugdha Godse in ‘Fashion’

She is the face of Maharashtra tourism and now model Mugdha Godse is all set for her Bollywood debut and how. The pretty gal will play the role of a supermodel in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’ with scenes reminiscent of Carol Gracias’s famous ‘wardrobe malfunction’.
“It’s a hard-hitting performance oriented role which tracks the journey of a model,” says the 23-year-old. As for the malfunction, it could still happen without being there in the script.

“Akshay kumar threatens Shahrukh’s super star status"

Circa 1991, a waiter from Bangkok after the initial grind as a struggling newcomer finally marks his debut in Bollywood. A year later, a struggling TV actor too makes his Bollywood debut. Today one’s the ultimate Khiladi and the other the Badshah of Bollywood.
We are talking about superstars Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan, both formidable in their own right, genres and markets. While the two are best remembered together for their film almost a decade ago , Dil To Pagal Hai , they created magic once again in the more recent Heyy Babyy , when SRK made a guest appearance in the Akshay-starrer.
In turn, Akshay will be seen making a rare guest appearance in SRK’s upcoming Om Shanti Om . Insiders insist that they hit it off instantly. But while personally they may be on friendly terms, professionally the two stars are giving each other a tagdi takkar at the box-office overseas.
While SRK had become an instant rage in the overseas market with Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge , and has been numero uno ever since, Akki’s action star image failed to strike a note in the hearts of the overseas audience.
However, if the recent trade figures are anything to go by, Akshay’s emerging as the new star on the overseas circuit giving tough competition to the Khan brigade (Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir and Saif) who have been ruling the roost so far. And with his recent spate of successes, Akshay’s begun a steady climb to the top and is fast catching up with the undisputed badshah.
Says trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Akshay’s certainly hot property in the overseas market today. His films have done extremely well both in India and abroad and box-office collections clearly prove that in the overseas market he’s one force to reckon with apart from Shah Rukh.
Sample this: Akki’s Heyy Babyy has grossed approximately Rs 5.58 crores in UK, as opposed to SRK’s Chak De which has grossed Rs 3.47 crores so far. Not only this, Heyy Babyy has also taken the biggest opening in the US this year and the biggest screen average (6,039 pounds) in the UK. With this Akki is touted to takeover as the ‘Overseas King’ with consecutive hits overseas.
Agrees trade analyst Komal Nahta who says, There’s no doubt that Akki’s raced way ahead of a host of other actors in the overseas segment. But he’s quick to add that it’s too early to consider him a threat to SRK’s reign.
A film distributor reveals, SRK has so far been the untouched king in the overseas market. But though that is quite unlikely to change soon, Akki’s popularity abroad is soaring. His films are being lapped up by overseas distributors with ever-rising prices. Even his films like Dosti that have not done well here, have seen several houseful weeks abroad. So, that way he’s a superhit hero and has been consistent in giving hits.
Analysing the two superstar’s film graphs, Nahta observes that Akshay has done far too many films and has not maintained the exclusivity that’s been one of SRK’s strengths. SRK has been very choosy, doing only one or two per year, as opposed to Akshay. Because of that the success ratio of SRK increased manifold and shot him into the superstar league way earlier, explains Nahta.
But what needs to be considered here are the banners. While SRK made it big, under big banners, Akshay has made it big on his own and it’s only of late that he’s started doing films under the bigger banners, adds Adarsh.
Box office apart too, the two not only endorse rival cola brands, but also suiting brands. And that’s not all while SRK endorses computers, Akshay endorses a gaming console. While Akshay’s doing away with his action image and doing more comedies and romantic fare, SRK’s geared up his body for some heavy duty action stuff.
Both have the solid backing of good friends and enjoy quite a loyalty among certain filmmakers. SRK has Karan Johar who’s reportedly named his next film My Name is Khan, on good pal highlighting him as the contemporary educated Muslim. Not to be outdone, Akki has been backed by Vipul Shah, who’s film Singh is King shows him as the quintessential Punjabi munda . In fact, many feel that the film was titled to announce his claim to the ‘King’ tag. Now whether the film really establishes his status as the King or not only time will tell.

Some of his flicks like Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, Hulchul might not have had logic but when it comes to tickling your funny bone, they were clean entertainers. Will his new flick Dhol live upto the high expectations from a Priyadarshan movie?
Dhol Story
This comic carper is about a gang of four goofy aimless guys Sam (Tusshar Kapoor), Pakkya (Sharman Joshi), Maru (Rajpal Yadav) and Goti (Kunal Khemu). They faced only failures in all their attempts to get rich and so they decide to take a shortcut. Their mantra to get rich and lead a five star life is to get married to a girl from an affluent family. Ritu (Tanushree Dutta), a rich girl who shifts in their neighborhood puts an end to their search. The measures that these fool hardy guys take up to please Ritu leads them to an unexpected and complicated mesh.
Dhol Movie Review
Dhol starts off with a hint of mystery and killing putting the audience into a state of confusion about the genre it deals with. The first 15 minutes of the movie is sluggish and slightly boring. The sequences that follow are hilarious and truly entertaining. The house owner aunty’s sequences are just side splitting. The gags and punches in the enterprise, more so towards the post-interval portions, are truly funny. The movie has its negatives too. The sequences that lead to the search for the Dhol by a gunda, the mystery behind it and his sudden killing could have been made better and hilarious to match a perfect ending for a comic carper. The way the mystery of Rahul and Jai’s death is revealed is also not convincing and gets the house down.
Just like his earlier flick Bhagam Bhag, Priyadarshan’s mix of comedy and mystery is not that perfect in this movie too, but it sure provides ample laughter and entertainment in the final tally. The four actors share a great chemistry and their comic timing is brilliant. Dialogues by Manisha Korde could have been better to suit the sequences at most times. Music by Pritam is good.

Mallika Sherawat in ‘Ugly and Pagli’

We had informed you that Bollywood sex bomb Mallika Sherwat will pair up again with Rahul Bose for ‘Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam’. But the things seem too much tilted towards this lady these days.

Now sexy Sherawat will reportedly play the female lead in Pritish Nandy Communications’ next romantic comedy titled ‘Ugly And Pagli’, to be directed by Sachin Khot. Mallika will play the character of ‘Pagli’ and the search is on for the male co-star to play ‘Ugly’. This time Ranvir Shorey and not Rahul Bose seems to a strong contender for the role.

Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone in ‘Made in China’

Akshay Kumar who carved his first niche in Bollywood as an action hero slowly got into comedy films. Now, with a long stretch of seven years, Akshay is going to enact in a complete action packed film which will also be Warner Brothers’ first Bollywood film. The film titled ‘Made in China’ will have Deepika Padukone opposite Akshay Kumar. The producers will be Ramesh and Rohan Sippy.
Akshay Kumar is undergoing training in the martial art form called Wushu which has been the style largely used by Jackie Chan and Jet Lee. It is well-known that Akshay admires and adores Jackie Chan.
’Akshay has been a martial arts student for years,’ director Nikhil Advani told. ‘The Wushu style is very big in China. Jet Li and Jackie Chan constantly practice it,’ he added.
Advani said, ‘My writer Sridhar Raghavan and my Indian producer Rohan Sippy designed the film with Akshay in mind. It was either Akshay or no one else for the role. We needed a lead pair who could do the action scenes with the grace of dancers. Both Deepika and Akshay are phenomenal dancers and athletes.’
Being India’s first film to be shot in China, the shooting will start in locations like Shanghai, Beijing and a village near the Chinese capital from Jan 2008.

Aishwarya rai refuses and Priyanka accepts Karan Johar’s film

Post marriage, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is currently working in ‘Jodha Akbar‘ with Hrithik Roshan. However, Aishwarya is very much aware of her responsibilities that come with being a Bachchan Bahu. That is why when Karan Johar approached Ash with a role in his film opposite Abhishek, the lady refused to accept the role, the reason being that the role is too hot for her to handle as a Bachchan Bahu.
“The story requires Aishwarya to act in a glamorous role. She is particular not to do such roles after her marriage. So, even if it is with her husband, she is definite on not doing such a glam role,” explained Aishwarya’s manager.
A puzzled director again went on the hunt for a heroine and finally settled on Priyanka Chopra who promptly said yes. Priyanka has already given a box-office hit ‘Bluff Master’ with Abhishek Bachchan. So the chemistry between the two actors is not to be doubted.

Emraan Hashmi says ‘Hello’ in Pakistan

Lookout for Hot Hrishitaa Bhatt

Hrishitaa Bhatt has surprised everyone with an image makeover and has had her cell phone buzzing incessantly as a result. Her friends and well-wishers are not tired of congratulating and commenting her on her well-toned and sexy new look.
But it is the industry people who have been taken by surprise, informs Hrishitaa. “They could not have imagined I would have made such a bold statement with my pictures. Yes, the buzz has been good and I’m glad that the ad world is taking keen interest. I’m sure I can manage both, films and commercials,” she says.

Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai may have just married into Bollywood’s most powerful acting dynasty, but she seems unfazed by her illustrious in-laws, saying they are just “family to me.”
Rai, one of only a handful of Bollywood stars with crossover appeal thanks to films such as Bride And Prejudice, married fellow star Abhishek Bachchan in April, creating what Indian media have dubbed the “ultimate power couple.”
Rai spoke to AFP on Saturday at Leeds Metropolitan University, north England where her father-in-law, actress Shabana Azmi and producer/director Yash Chopra received honorary degrees during the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFAs).
Asked how it feels being part of such a famous family, she laughed, cast a glimpse towards her nearby husband and said: “It’s all great — well, they’re family to me and that’s what makes it most special.”
The emerald-eyed beauty also spoke of her excitement at the “Unforgettable” world tour, kicking off in April 2008, when she will appear on stage with Bachchan father and son for the first time.
It’s all great — well, they’re family to me and that’s what makes it most special-Aishwarya”I’ve been on world tours before which are always a fantastic experience because that’s your opportunity to really interact with your wellwishers, fans, world over in person,” she said.
“It’s great fun, we have a blast and this time it will be definitely unforgettable to me, literally too, because I’m going to be with my loved ones and with the fantastic groups that we tour with.”
Rai has no complaints about the warmth of the reception she has received during the IIFAs in Britain, insisting that the Bollywood film industry here is booming.
“It’s wonderful so far, the people here have been really, really warm and affectionate and we’re enjoying the welcome,” she said.
“The fact is that the film industry enjoys incredible support already in this country … actually we really do enjoy a fantastic support, agreat audience and a very, very comfortable place here.”

Zayed Khan dashes to Dubai for Aqeel

Obviously. Farah Khan was online giving Aqeel’s side of the story and talking to all the media. Pa-in-law Sanjay uses his good offices with the Sheik’s of Dubai to get Aqeel to safety and brother-in-law Zayed all his film function which was in Dubai and trip to Yorkshire.

Sonu Nigam in Act II

At precent Sonu Nigam had pledged to keep away from films. The upshot is that he has signed a film, Aankhon Aankhon Mein, which tells the story of a bilnd singer. The singer however insist that he is not attempting to re-establish his carrer as an actor and wants to do the film purely for its taut script.
Sonu says,” My friend Akashdeep has been planning to do this film for the longest time. When he had offered it to me earlier, I was’nt quite interested . I had turned it down. But when I read the script, I founf it extremely interesting. We are yet to fgure out the dates as I’m presently touring the US and I will be back this month end.”
Sonu Nigam has acted in Jaani Dushman:Ek Anokhi Kahani, Kaash…..Aap Kamare Hote and Love in Nepal.
Sonu is also compsing the music of the film. He say that his main interest continues to be music.He completely aware of strength but he is open to ecperiment at the same time. Akashdeep says,” We are very good friends. One fine day he walked in my house and I knew that only he colud portray the singer in my film.”
The film is inspired by a popular play, Titlee, producer by Alyque padamsee. The play’s case included director Akashdeep and he played the part of a physically challenged singer. His co-star was Sharon Prabhakar. Akashdeep says,” We had enacted over 100 shows back then . I’ve been planning to turn it into a film for a long time.”

Katrina says No plans for marriage now

Katrina Kaif has endorsed many product, but ther’s a lot more to Katrina than her gorgeous face. She’s all set to proves that her carrer is on the upswing post some big projects,from which some did well at the box-office and some that are in the pipeline.

She is not know to get along well with fellow actress, Bipasha Basu bring the recent case in point.Does she thinks two actresses can be friend ? “You know,if two actresses are competing with each other and vying for the same role,its futile to even pursue that relationship. She prefer him in short hair,John looks good. About her own tresses, they seem to have grown longer than her last bob cut look.
